Preserve iMovie loop in export
I am able to loop a video clip within iMovie and when played back it loops continuously. When exported as an MP4, the looping is lost. How can it be preserved?

Unfortunately, the looping is lost upon export and no way to preserve it. The looping must be done at the video player level. QuickTimePlayer has a looping feature, for example.
You can copy and paste your timeline several times into the timeline, so that it plays repeatedly and creates the same effect as a loop when exported. It would not be an infinite loop, however, as eventually the movie will play the last repetition. Also, it would increase the file size of the movie, if that is important.
You can easily do the above workaround by exporting the movie and then importing it into an iMovie project where it can easily be repeatedly copied and pasted as one large clip.

Rich,
The clip I wanted to loop was an Ameican Flag waving in th breeze and my workaround was precisely what you suggested. Four repetitions with cross dissolves between them did the trick and produced a video of sufficient lenght for recitation of the Pledge of Alliegence.
Thanks for you advice.
Jack
Great. Glad you got the effect that you wanted.
