Documents missing in iCloud drive

When I add new documents to iCloud Drive -documents using an iPhone, they do not appear in Finder -iCloud drive on my Macbook air, and vice versa.

They (from my iPhone) do appear on the website iCloud.com.

There seem to be two different drives. The suggestion I found on the Apple support site do not seem te work.

How can I solve this?

Ensure that you are logged into the same Apple ID on both devices so that your documents sync.
