No. Telcel does not support eSim at this time. In Mexico, only AT&T and Movistar support eSim.

The models sold in Mexico will include a physical sim card tray and will be usable with Telcel.

Telcel only allows eSim on post-payment plans. Amigo Telcel is not currently set up.
Note only iPhones sold in the US have eSim only. iPhones sold in Mexico will continue to carry SIM card tray.

I called Telcel yesterday (Sept 26 2022) and they told me they have them and their network is fully compatible, BUT (and is a big one) they only give them to phones bought to them and only to one model from other brand other than apple.
It feels like they’re giving a step backwards in terms of free market.
Best ask Telcel support what devices they will permit on their cellular network.
If the iPhone is purchased at full price and with no vendor subsidy, it should work with any carrier.
Thanks a lot.
Telcel says on their website that they will be able to activate us bought esim only phones
they need to go to the store .
