After connecting, screen is perfect but audio comes out from my MacBook Air and not my HDTV. when I go System Preference-Sound-Output, there's no other choice there, only internal speaker. I cannot even see any TV or HDMI. Same as when I go Utilities-Audio MIDI... no HDMI or TV appear on the left to choose. Please help.. Thanks!

In particular, check out the "If your HDMI device isn't receiving audio" section:
If your HDMI device isn't receiving audio from your Mac:
•Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sound. In the Output pane, make sure that your HDMI device is selected.
•If you're connecting using a Mini DisplayPort adapter, make sure that your Mac can send audio over Mini DisplayPort.
•If you're connecting from a Mac mini, unplug any audio device that is plugged into your computer's Audio-Out port.
As it looks like you may have tried those steps, then the issue may be related to the adapter or HDMI cable being used. If possible, try using a different cable and/or adapter, and see if that has helped.

If you are able to test your MacBook Air with either another cable or display, definitely let us know your results. That should help to isolate the cause of this behavior further.

Thanks you, Eric, for your kind help. I have tried all the above you mentioned. Under sound output, HDMI wasn’t reflected at all. May be as you said, the issue is with the HDMI cable I bought from challenger...
