Apple Store Card Invalid Code

I see that there are numerous inquiries for the same problem I've been having, all responses for which lead to the same, unhelpful support link. I am trying to redeem multiple valid in apple store gift cards and each time I get the error message the the code is invalid. The gift cards come with a pin and gift card mumber, both when entered yield the same error message. If it makes a difference, the gift card pin starts with a Y not an X. Is there any solution to be able to redeem and use these valid gift cards? Please help!
