Pool Swim Workout

I swim with several people who use Apple Watches, who also swim with kick boards. We all have the same issue, laps don’t get counted. I’m sure, as a former HW/SW developer that there is a way to add a function, ie. a double or maybe triple hand clench action that can tell the pool swim that you’ve completed a non arm motion lap and update the lap count and distance correctly.

I found I can “cheat” by moving my left arm like I’m swimming but I’m trying to work my legs, my arm workout comes later and does work.

Any thoughts??

Thanks,

Joe B

Just REALLY ****** at Apple! The fix is SO simple. Yo tick up the lap count clap your hands twice. The accelerometers recognize the abrubt stop TWICE and say a lap is done. I worked with accelerometers for years and programmed Apple devices for decades so I think I have a handle on how to do it. I just CAN'T get the code onto my OWN devices because of their licensing guidelines. I have XCode and am waiting for the WatchOS 9 libraries at which time I will HAND them the code. But why listen to or even accept help from one old grumpy fart who actually has a solution.

BAH!

And I apologize for being snarky to you! I had just gotten done LOSING 71 laps of exercise to my Apple Series 7 Watch.

My best to you and may you stay safe on this lunatic planet!
