If I am selling my iPhone, what do I need to do in order to Unlock my iPhone? The instructions to unlock the phone says to "restore" the data.

If I am selling my iPhone, what do I need to do in order to Unlock my iPhone? The instructions to unlock the phone says to "restore" the data. Do I need to enter any information on the old phone?
