No clear instructions on typing superscripts or subscripts in iOS Apps

There are no clear instructions on typing superscripts or subscripts in iOS Apps other than Pages. If text subscript or superscript text on Pages is selected, copied and pasted in, say, the Facebook App, the originally subscripted part of text doesn’t appear as subscript. If the subscript is copy pasted for creating a shortcut on the keyboard setting, that too doesn’t appear as a subscript. Is there a solution to this? Thanks.

Sorry, my reference to Character Viewer in my previous post was erroneous, as that is not available on the iPad, only on a Mac.

On an iPad you need to get an app like UnicodePad which will let you access Unicode subscripts. Or you can copy/paste them from the web into a text replacement.

Thank you. I copy-pasted some subscripts from some webpages accessed on Safari as replacements on the keyboard settings but they all appeared as regular text.

Some webpages don't use the Unicode but instead use html code instead. This page should let you copy/paste the real things.

Testing simple superscript and subscripts:

x⁰x¹x²x³

x₀x₁x₂x₃

Testing Unicode using Zalgo:

Unicode can be… complex.
