Does wifi calling work on an e-sim?

Hello everyone, has anyone manage to make wifi calling work on an e-sim? I am planning to buy an iPhone 14. It comes with e-sims only. I use wifi calling often and I heard It only works on a physical sim. Is that true?

WiFi calling is a service of your carrier, it doesn't matter whether their setup is on a physical SIM chip or an eSIM.

Doing some Googling on the subject, If you have an American carrier, it looks like there may be issues with WiFi calling outside the USA if not set up properly.
