Sound

When I have headphones connected to my Macbook pro, I can listen to music and watch videos. When headphones are not plugged in, the sound will not work. How can I fix this?

Sound Output Changes on its Own MacBook Air (2022) and the sound output keeps switching over to "external headphones". I have never used external headphones. There is no rhyme or reason to why this switch happens. I'll be listening to something and suddenly can't hear anymore and it's because the output has changed all by itself to "external headphones". One Apple support person had me do some sort of reset and it was fixed for a couple of weeks. Now it's doing it AGAIN. Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a fix for it that will actually work or do I need to ship my MacBook off for repair? (NOTE: I saw this same topic from 2011 so it's a known issue)!

Sound Delays on external speaker on MacBook Pro Hello, Does anyone have any solution for the sound delay about 2-3 seconds when connecting the laptop to external speakers via the headphones plug-in. Thank you!

Mac mini sound stops going to headphone jack On my Mac Mini running latest Ventura OS, I have external speakers plugged into the headphone jack. They work for a while and then stop with the sound coming from the internal mini speakers. I check the sound settings and it still says external headphones. If I unplug the Jack and plug it back in, the sound once again comes through the external speakers. Ideas?
