Talk to text

When I use talk to text, my phone will decapitalize the first word of all sentences. This is grammatically incorrect. Why does it do this?

When I use speaking in Messenger or iMessages to text it repeats what I say twice. I messed around on my new IPhone 14 Pro Max phone last night and changed some settings. Now when I use speaking instead of typing while using Messenger or iMessages to text it repeats what I say twice. For example, if I say “good night” it types “ good night good night. If I text “How are you doing? it texts “How are you doing?” “ How are you doing?” Unfortunately I don’t know what function i used to make this happen so I don’t know how to stop it. HELP! My vision isn’t so great, which was why I was in the accessibility settings to begin with. That is why I use my voice to text. I do wish Apple would be a little more clear in defining what each function does.

Why is my talk to text suddenly not understanding me? I have an iphone 13. Recently I have noticed that talk to text is no longer working as well. It's almost like it suddenly can't understand what I am saying and unless I talk very slowly and enunciate super carefully it just doesnt type out what I want to say. I never had this issue before. Can anyone help?

Hey there Inquirer70,

One thing that could fix this would be to tap the microphone button on your keyboard to start dictation, then say “Caps on”. This should make it so it capitalizes the first character each word. You can read more here:
