iCloud says full storage after purchasing 200GB?

I tried to use camera and says iphone storage is full.

I also tried to back up the phone and it says iCloud storage is full.

i have turned the phone on & off - no solution.

not sure why this is happening, mainly because it shows I have space on the image.

Does anyone know what is happening? & what to do?

thank you

Hey carlamarisa,

We see from the picture you provided that the iPhone is registering your storage upgrade and iCloud storage is not full. With regard to the iCloud backup, did you happen to check the backup size? Here's how: If you can't back up to iCloud

When you're using the camera, if you see a message saying the iPhone storage is full, that is referring to a different area that does not affect your iCloud storage. It's referring to storage directly on the iPhone, which cannot be increased.

To manage iPhone storage, follow the steps in this guide, as they pertain to your preferences and situation: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Devices running recent iOS versions may see suggestions to optimize device storage, in Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

We hope this helps.

Take care.

Hi carlamarisa,

Thanks for the new screenshot, as that really helps.

That 1% symbol is advising that iCloud Photos is in the process of uploading your photos to iCloud, and has only gotten to 1%.

What you need to do to help with that process, is to plug into power and leave connected to Wi-Fi for awhile. It may take a longer time, if you have a lot of photos. Overnight works, as you can not overcharge your iPhone.

When iCloud Photos is finished with uploading your photos, check the available storage on your iPhone again at Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

Once iCloud has your full resolution photos, the smaller version of the photos should help free up space on your iPhone itself.

More info can be found here: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

Let us know if you still need help with your iPhone storage after iCloud Photos finishes.

Take care!
