Blurred Box Upper Left Corner iPhone 13 iOS 15.6.1

The upper left corner of my iPhone was blurred this morning. Doing a search, I discovered this is a perennial problem for other users. It temporarily would go away if I toggled dark/light mode. A restart seemed to make it go away longer. Heads up Apple your latest update may have resurrected this bug!

Welcome heinet,

We understand there is blurred box on the top corner of your iPhone 13 with iOS 15.6.1. We'll do our best to assist with this.

Good thinking attempting to switch between light and dark modes. Restarting was also a good step.

Does this occur on the Home Screen or in specific apps? Are you still on iOS 15.6.1? We ask because there has been recent updates since that version was released. We'd recommend updating to make sure that doesn't resolve this: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch wirelessly

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. Choose the software update that you want to install. You can choose to stay on iOS or iPadOS 15 and still get important security updates. Or you can choose the option to upgrade to iOS or iPadOS 16.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

In case that doesn't solve it, reply back with the information from above and we'll take it from there.

Cheers!

Looks like this for me. iOS 15.7.

Sticks around no matter the app and also on the home screen. Just say a notification coming up and that showed up ”on top” of the square.

I think this is the second time this happens on the iPhone 12 Pro Max that I’ve had for two years in January next year, so cant say it happens often and not shure what triggers it – if it’s a specific app or something one does.
