using google search for web sites that site
would always be stored in the new tabs section on my iphone and ipad not any more. I can open a search and the new tab will be there in the new tab folder but if I do another search that search replaces the old one in the new tab section

Open a link in a new tab
Touch and hold the link, then tap Open in New Tab.
To stay on the current tab whenever you open a link in a different tab, go to Settings> Safari > Open Links, then tap In Background.
If that's not helpful, could you let us know if you're searching in the Safari app, or if you're using the Search feature on the iPhone?

Since the issue seems to only be happening with Google, we did find this link for their support site:

Another thought, have you tried using Safari in Private Browsing to see if the issue still happens? If not, it's worth a try. Here's how:
Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support
How to turn on Private Browsing
1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch.
2. Tap the Tabs button.
3. Tap [number] Tabsto show the Tab Groups list.
4. Tap Private, then tap Done.
While Private Browsing is on, the Safari address bar appears black or dark instead of white or gray.

Thank you for your response, Safari works fine, keeps all recently viewed web sites in the tab section, the problem is with Google regarding tabs disappearing if that helps you (tried to contact Google but is totally impossible)
