iPhone 11. Updating to iOS16 causes touch screen to fail.
Updated to iOS 15.7 first, then updated to iOS16 straight afterwards. Both updates ran with no issues.
After update to 16, touch screen is operating randomly. (Touch one icon and another is selected, cannot put correct numbers in to make a phone call etc) Everything else appears to work. No problems with touch before the update.

OK - have spent the day with Apple tech trying to diagnose the problem. No software fixes resets or restores worked. I was told the problem is caused by new display features in iOS16 which are incompatible with non-Apple replacement screens.
The phones cannot be restored back to iOS15.7 after upgrading to iOS16. The only solution offered is to replace the display with an Apple display (cost £220 ish). I wish they had warned me of this before doing the upgrade to iOS16!!
By the way, I discovered that fast double taps kind of work sometimes when selecting apps and entering data.

Anyone know if this was fixed for 16.2? I haven’t been updating because I didn’t know if I’d be able to revert again if it’s still an issue
My beef is WHY doe's it take 2 or 3 touchs to open an app AND why the questions on first touch.
Cannot use phone. Touchscreen jacked after 16 update. What now?
Even I threw my expensive screen guard but this thing didn't work properly even then. Money wasted!
I have the same issue iPhone XR was Bought from a reseller been working fine for a long time before the update... I can tell the screen had been replaced once before I bought it. Thanks for pushing this update apple RIGHT during hurricane IAN I haven't been able to use my phone to contact anyone. The worst time in the world to push an update to be a wanker because of third-party screens The update straight up says Addresses Issue with Screens after being replaced. Please fix it asap at least push a small update rolling back the screen fix to the last update where it was working you guys have a lot of folks right now trying to use their phones in the middle of the worst time for millions please fix this ASAP!
I-phone XR was Bought from the straight talk as refurbished so I didn't replace the screen why punish us?
Talked my wife into an apple phone and now she wants me to throw this junk away and go buy her a real phone, She has had SOOO many small update issues like this Come on apple, you guys are some of the best phone makers out there.
Already using workaround... Since Saw another post Thank you to whoever that was. Dont have access to mess with a computer atm to roll anything back atm.

Yes to screen replacement. And yes, the Accessibility Touch Settings fix seems to have sorted it. Thanks.
16.0.3 has made no difference to my screen lag. My iPhone xr remains an expensive paperweight.
