Hello fkhgary731,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

Check out the ways to open Now Playing below to see if this helps out: Use Now Playing on Apple Watch - Apple Support

Open Now Playing

You can open Now Playing in the following ways:

• Open the Now Playing app on your Apple Watch.

• Press the side button, then tap Now Playing in the Dock.

• Tap the Now Playing button if you’ve added it to the watch face.

If that isn't helpful, check which watch face you're using to see if that may be the change. For help with your watch face, use this resource: Customize the watch face - Apple Support

Take care!

Apple removed Now Playing from the status icons showing at the top center of the screen. Instead, Apple recommends uisng the Dock or adding Now Playing as a complication

In watchOS 8 and earlier, the Now Playing icon  appears at the top of the screen when you're listening to audio on your Apple Watch. In watchOS 9 and later, this icon doesn't appear, but the app that's playing audio appears at the top of the Dock. -- Status icons and symbols on Apple Watch - Apple Support
