MacBook Pro 14 (2021) Optimized battery charging

Hi,

Recently became an owner of MacBook Pro 14".

The problem is for a couple days I am noticing that when I start charging my Mac for a second I see that optimized charging has been activated but 3 seconds later it turns back to usual battery charge. I have been trying to teach the AI for a bit more than a week to switch to optimized charging at the certain time window but still it is not activating.


Question is how does the optimized battery charging actually work. I understand that it learns from our daily routines when we plug and unplug the charging cable but for example if one day I plug it at 12:00 p.m and unplug at 7:00 p.m and following days I plug it not at 12 but at 11:50 or 12:15 and unplug at 6:45 or 7:05 does the optimized charging AI take this into account and learns from it or should I always charge/uncharge at the same exact time ?

You do not have to micro-manage or "teach the AI..."


If you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only.



It can take several months not weeks to see a change. each new macOS update seems to make it recalculate/update/incorporate any software improvements.


Honestly I would not waste my time trying to over think this.
