My Safari tabs keep disappeared!

Since I updated my iPhone12 to iOS 15 all of my tabs (I open only 1 windows) disappear soon as I turn it on after the update I could not reopen from the history or anywhere (I use both of the regular tab and private tab but my regular tab doesn’t work too) I didn’t try to report the problem because I think it is due to my storage on iPhone but today as I use my iPad which I open 3 window with one private window the private tab disappeared and it so annoying cuz I accidentally open one of my important tab on the private tab (which I know later after it disappeared)

in both case I check the auto close tab in settings and both were set in manually so it should not happen. I know that private tab will not be in history but it so annoying that it disappeared by it own.

to be more clear on how the private tap disappears the tab was there but it was on regular mode the I thought it switch mode by itself or something but as soon as I change to private mode everything was already gone. I try to do the reopen closed tab but it show I didn’t just close any tap and that’s how it gone.

I don’t how how or why but I hate this happened. New iOS keep having bugs and I’m so disappointed with apple right now

so in conclusion in my iPhone 1 window was open and all tab was gone. In my iPad the regular tab/window was ok but the private window was gone. I didn’t close anything I just updated my iPhone and it happened and with my iPad I’m just using it.

Hey there nichapha16,

We agree this is unexpected behavior, especially since you already checked that your settings aren't set to auto-close tabs in Safari.

While we understand that it's happening on both your iPad and iPhone, let's use your iPhone to continue troubleshooting this. To start, we'd like to confirm a few things you said, along with ruling out some basics:

  1. You mentioned that you thought it could be related to an almost full internal storage, but how much storage do you have available in both the built-in storage, and in iCloud storage?
  2. You also mentioned updating recently, but is iOS 16.0 the exact version number installed? You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. Have you already tried a restart of your iPhone? If not, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.

Cheers!
