JVC videomaker

I’m trying to download old VHS mini tapes from a JVC videomovie GR-AX46 to iMovies.

it used to work no problem but now to Mac dose not seem to recognise the JVC.

dose anyone have a solution?

Connecting VCR to Macbook Pro Hi all. I am trying to capture video off VHS tapes, using a VCR connected to my Macbook Pro (13 inch, 2017, Monterey 12.6) via a DigitNow VHS to DVD Video Capture Converter. It used to run on my 2009 iMac, using the software supplied via CD. As I don't have a disc drive on my Macbook I was hoping to capture video via VLC, iMovie or Quicktime but none of those programs are recognising that there is a capture device connected. Do I need to download some third party software? I believe the software that came on the original CD was from ArcSoft which has since been discontinued. Or is the issue that I am trying to connect the converter through a USB to thunderbolt adapter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Unable to connect my JVC camcorder to Mac desktop The camcorder is a JVC GZ-R15 which I have had for several years but not used for some time now. Never had any problems with my previous Mac, but with this one all I get is buffering on the camcorder screen after pressing "connect to pc: followed by "playback on pc". An HDD icon should appear on my desktop, but there is nothing there. I don't believe there is anything wrong with the cable as I was able to charge it up via the mains but having said that when I previously tried to do the same via my desktop Mac the battery just drained away. I switched USB sockets to no avail, and as far as I am aware the smart card is fine as i can watch the footage i took on it. There is nothing on iMovie(10.3.8) either, so I thought maybe there were compatibility problems, but having checked on an Apple list (2023) this camcorder is very much there so I am flummoxed

Transferring video from old camcorder but not recognised by MacBook Pro I have an old Panasonic camcorder bought around 2001 and want to get the footage onto my Mac so I can edit it and have digital copies, but my Mac doesn't recognise it. I contacted Panasonic to see if I could get a driver but was only one available for Windows not Mac. I used to connect it to my previous laptop, it took a lifetime to transfer and process, then I had one chance to save to DVD before disconnecting and having to do it all again. So, does anyone know what I need now to get it to recognise it please? Thank you

I see that your JVC is an analog camera.

When " it used to work" how did you connect the JVC to your Mac?

Where you using an analog to digital converter?

How have you got the JVC connected to your Mac now?
