iMessage doesn't show contacts profile picture

Since I updated my iPhone X to iOS15 the profile pictures of my contacts are missing in the Messages list view. I thought it was a feature that wasn't supported any longer, but now I've updated to iOS16 I saw screenshots with these profile pictures. Only mine doesn't have it.

Is there a setting that I'm missing? See indication in red.

Aha. I've found it myself.

Turns out my display zoomed was not standard.

If anyone else has this problem:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Display & Brightness
  3. Tap Display Zoom
  4. Choose Standard (instead of Zoomed)
  5. Tap Set
  6. iPhone will show a black screen for a few seconds, but it should do the trick.
