Since the update to ios16, podcasts on my iPhone are not updating.

Someone in Apple is sabotaging this much used app. It was the reason why I started using Apple iPod. Clearly not given much love and care by the developers and is ruining Apple’s mantra that ‘it just works’.

Not fixed in iOS 16.1. Please fix. The podcasts app is a pain to use without the upnext feature working properly. I’ve deleted and reinstalled multiple times and it doesn’t fix anything.
Same problem for me... They show as unplayed in the list but they do not show as new and downloaded podcasts in the "listen now"
