Time Line ... lots of memory required for upgrade in OS.

When I used Time Machine to back up my info before upgrading, I didn't have enough memory room on my external hard drive. It said I needed 108 GB storage available.

Do you think I will need to purchased a larger storage device?

Probably. If Time Machine says it needs more space, then it needs more space.

You can completely erase the backup disk and start a new backup, but unless you have an additional TM backup disk you would be without any backup... which isn't a good idea.

Is there anything else on that external hard disk drive that is not related to Time Machine, which can be erased?
