i have upgraded to IOS 16 but don't have the "show recently deleted" option under messages, edit. please help.

That’s because you don’t have any messages you deleted while iOS 16 was installed.

ugh, yes, the message conversation was deleted prior to iOS 16 install.

Are you asking about messages that were already on the phone........before......you applied the iOS 16 update?

Have you deleted any messages........after......you installed the update?
