I just updated my iPhone 8plus to iOS 16.0.3 so I can recover deleted text messages and when I go to the edit tab I don’t see the Show Recently Deleted option. I only have three options and that’s not one of them. Please advise. Thank you
I had the same problem. You won't get the Recently Deleted option until you have sent some messages after having installed iOS 16.0.3. Once I had sent some messages, the option appeared. Dogcow-Moof has added another important issue. The messages must have been deleted while using iOS 16.0.3.

You can only recover messages that were deleted running iOS 16.
So when you delete a message under iOS 16, you will see that message listed in the Recently Deleted section.
