How do I fix my CarPlay after it stoped working after IOS 16 update?

Hello. For a while my CarPlay in my 2020 Prius Prime was working. But that changed on Monday when I made the update on my Iphone13 to IOS 16. Whenever I plug it it, all I get is a blank screen and none of my music, podcasts or audiobooks will play at all. I’ve tried resetting my IPhone and car, I’ve tried using different cables, I’ve tried to toggle certain settings in music (it’s all set correctly) and I’ve tried giving my phone a hard reset with the settings back to its factory setting and nothing has worked.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hello RforFilm,

For difficulties with CarPlay, you'll want to take the following additional steps:

1. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.

2. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.

3. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.
