tt2,

I’ll try as noted on the erratic syncing. So I’ll perform the following:

  1. Backup device.
  2. Restore as a new device.
  3. Restore the backup you made earlier.

another note, all my mp3 play from my computer plays fine in iTunes, but many songs are missing when I copy the play list to my iphone. They are greyed out and it states something about not available in my region.

tt2,

I tried what you recomended. This is what I experienced when adding my playlist back to my phone using itunes (pc):

  1. when adding the 1st playlist from my itunes (pc), everything transfers over to my phone and every song works.
  2. when I add a 2nd playlist from my itunes (pc), the songs transfer, but then I experience the same issue where some songs get greyed out from 1st playlist and not all songs transfer from itunes for the 2nd playlist as well

What I suspect is happening is that if there are duplicate songs, they get removed. but I'm not sure if this statement is true or not. I need to experience more.

Thanks,

dchan8

tt2,

I’ll try tonight and provide feedback.

I spoke to Apple support online last night(wasn’t experienced enough to help), someone this morning (did a screen share where they saw my computer screen and phone screen - told me I need a new phone) and a store visit where the genius said it’s not the phone… no one could help. Your diagnosis seems the most reasonable ..

thank you again.

tt2,

i also manually sync'ed my music from itunes to my phone and selected "automatically fill free space with song" and it add all song my music to my iphone and did not affect my 1st playlist.

I plan to just create additional playlist from my phone to see if it affect my other songs on my 1st playlist.

I think there is a bug in itunes that done allow for duplicate songs on different playlist.

Thanks again
