iTunes shows no music on my device

When using iTunes for PC, clicking on “on my device” shows no music for iPhone 14. I have all my songs downloaded to my phone and I can see my playlists. I have Apple Music with sync on. I was able to see songs on “on my device” before I had Apple Music. Is this normal?

If you recently subscribed to Apple Music, I suspect all the songs in your music library got upload to the cloud. See:
