Wifi connection unstable on 2017 MacBook Pro
I recently moved to a new house and set up my internet with Spectrum Modem using a ASUS RT-AX86 Series router. The issue i'm having is that my wife and I both have 13-inch, 2017 MacBookPro's. After being connected to the wifi for 10-20 minutes seemingly randomly the internet stops working on the computer. It shows it is still connected to the wifi and shows three bars but there is no connection. Upon toggling on and off the wifi on the laptop and reconnecting the internet connection starts working again. This will keep happening ever 10-20 minutes. This is an issue for my wife who uses her laptop to attend class remotely and constantly is getting booted from zoom meetings. I have tried restarting both laptops and rebooting the modem and router. The issue just persists.
I do use a 2019 MacBook Pro that my job sent me as my work computer and that has connected and worked fine with the wifi for the past 2 months. I have not been disconnected from the wifi once on that or any other device. I'm not sure if this is some software/hardware issue with these older macs and their compatibility to my router?
