Hi John, thanks a lot for your answer. I finally got around trying the safe mode and it didn’t solve the problem. As I understand it, I now have to reinstall macOS (I figured out that I have a Mac with an intel processor). And I also read that it won’t damage or erase my data.
Before you do that, try launching Safari while holding a Shift key down. That action opens Safari without loading its previously opened windows or tabs.
Release the Shift key when / if Safari opens.
I didn’t see your message in time and did reinstall and it fixed the problem!! Thank you so much. I wouldn’t have had the guts to start the process without your input anyways!!
