You should not need update support unless you are running into problems.
Tap Settings
Tap General
Tap Software Update
If you’re on an iPhone 7 or earlier, and trying to get iOS 16…
…or…
If you’re on an iPhone 6 or earlier, and trying to get iOS 15…
… that won’t work. Those iPhone models are too old.
