Your only option is to try to get in contact with the person who sold you the device. You can't go through apple, since you didn't buy the iPhone first hand.

The best thing you can do is contact Apple if you can't find the original owner. If they reject an activation lock removal request, nothing you can really do but sell it second-hand.
