New watchOS 9 running metrics not being calculated after run

I recently upgraded my series 4 to watchOS 9. I took an outdoor run with the new update (about 4km). I went into the fitness app to view the details of the run. Next to “workout details” I clicked “show more”. On this screen, I didn’t see any of the new metrics: running power, stride length, ground contact time, or vertical oscillation. When I clicked “reorder” at the bottom of the screen, I saw that all these metrics were grayed out (see picture). Why aren’t these metrics being calculated?

The new running metrics are available on Series 6 and above and SE--not available on Series 4 or 5.
