Lost majority of contact names when I entered my gmail password that it always prompted me to do after creating a new contact - i usually just hit cancel. How do I get these contact names added back? They are all numbers still in my messages/call logs.
When removing the gmail account all contact names are removed entirely. Doesn’t appear anything was ever saved to iCloud either.

To add the contacts back, you would need to add your Gmail account to your iOS device again. From there you can get them saved to iCloud as described here: Set up and use iCloud Contacts - Apple Support
"Add Contacts from third-party accounts
If you store contacts in a third-party email service, you can add the email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Then, check that Contacts is enabled."
