im trying to update my phone to ios 16 but it keeps saying i dont have enough storage and i just bought storage

The error message about storage is referring to the available free space on your iPhone. What you purchased is iCloud storage which is a separate and does not extend/expand the storage capacity of your iPhone.

You can free up the actual space on your iPhone by deleting data on it. Note that the media files take up the most space and you can start there (Photos, Videos, Music etc).

Renting iCloud storage does not add storage space to an iPhone. If you need additional space, you will need to delete or move existing content from the phone.

You bought iCloud storage not phone storage. You cannot increase the internal storage on an iPhone, it is a fixed size.
