Exporting highlights from Books app no longer works on iOS 16 [bug report]

@Dmitry Erokhin WOW! This helps a ton. Are you sure, you need to hold the shift button? I had to hold down command.

This change will make it a LOT harder for me to read books on my iPad as I always take notes.

Now I have to either take notes on a separate device or use a different app.

Very annoying.

Is this still an issue? Seems like a simple fix that could be changed and makes sense for Apples QOL, where we at with this?

@Phandrens so you were unable to find a way to move your epubs from apple books to the google books app? Sounds like a cheap racket to me.

Is this a policy of Fox News or Apple? I can not believe that Fox News would object to me using a picture of their news as it is another way to gain more eyes.

"childs play" is the right description. An app that doesn't allow you to select and export large amounts or all of your work is a TOY.

There is no workaround. I called Apple support and they told me it is impossible to downgrade back to iOS 15. My highlights and notes are forever trapped in iBooks :((

Since this tragic function loss I’ve tried a few other ebook apps, and found that Google Play Books has a fantastic feature: it saves all highlights and annotations on Google Drive in a human readable Google Docs format. It does this real time, I don’t even need to export them. It is possible to import DRM free epubs, and they are synched between all devices. Even if Google kills this feature someday, the Google Docs files will remain so this is a good archival solution.

Kudos to Google on this one!
