If you are receiving an alert that your Apple ID settings needs to be updated or upgraded, then you'll want to follow these prompts and sign in to verify the account on your iPhone.

For this issue, we'd recommend the following related steps:

1. Go to Settings > [Name] > Find My, then Find My iPhone and make sure that 'Find My network' is enabled.

3. Set up your AirTag using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Are you having issues with other iCloud features, such as, Keychain or Messages in iCloud? If the answer is yes or you continue to have issues after the above steps, then it would be best to contact Apple Support
