So probably tens of thousands of people who knit are finding that their Apple watch will not count their steps accurately – ever. It appears the only way for the watch to count your steps is to REMOVE the watch while you're knitting. This is insane! Is there really no fix? Does Apple not care? Not recording my steps I always use my watch at work, but I keep it in my pocket so it doesn't get damaged. It always recorded my steps while in my pocket, but ever since I updated it to version 8.7 it stopped recording my steps unless it was on my wrist. I contacted support, but they didn't help. They said it wasn't supposed to measure steps while in my pocket, but it did, and now it doesn't. Any ideas?

Have you tried to calibrate the watch?

Take the watch off or turn off fitness tracking.
