Spotlight search very slow after iOS 16 upgrade

Hello, I upgraded my iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 16 just 4 days ago.

Since the update, when I search for an app using Spotlight it no longer gives immediate results with a partial app name. I have to type the full app name with correct spelling and press search button. After approximately 5 seconds the app will come up.

I believe the iPhone may need to reindex after update. Has anyone else had this problem or found solutions?

Hello gregoryfromsanta monica,

It may help to try giving the iPhone a quick restart, if you haven't yet since noticing the issue: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

It may also help to try leaving the device connected to power and locked overnight, if you haven't yet.

If the issue still occurs you may wish to try reaching out to Apple Support for further investigation into the issue. This page can help start the support request: Apple Support

Cheers.
