Repeating start up sounds

Now it is all black and playing the restart sound every minute (even when it is closed). Is there any possibility of fixing this? I tried all of the restart options with the keyboard but the apple logo never popped up and the sounds kept happening. He has a back up computer but it is a bummer this randomly happened.
