Vo2 max calculation way off Apple Watch / Apple Fitness vo2 max calculation is way off. Ie it’s much worse than reality - for me at least. I have an unusually high max heart rate for my age and I’m wondering if this is the reason. Apple fitness doesn’t seem to know my max heart rate (though I don’t know why since my watch is measuring heart rate). Vo2 max calculations can use max heart rate and so if apple fitness is using an estimated max heart rate based on my age then this would lead to this error. If that’s the reason (and it may not be) then all they need to do is capture max heart rate as well as resting heart rate and provide a personalised vo2 max calculation. Apple what do you think?
