Why is my iOS16 Lock Screen blacked out?

I upgraded my 13 pro max to iOS 16 today and I set a new lock screen with widgets and custom clock color. But it only shows it as blacked out, it doesn’t show the photo at all. How do I fix this? I’ve added the original photo (with my kiddo scribbled out), a screenshot the lock screen customization screen, and a screenshot of [the problem] how the Lock Screen appears when I first lift up my phone.
