is there a protective film that needs to be removed from MackBook pro screen

There may be a clear plastic "bag" type cover you lift off, but nothing like the blue tinted film you see on certain appliances and electronic devices.

What protective files that is applied, is NOT user removable. To do so will damage the screen.

Please be cautious, newer MacBooks Pro use a special coating on Liquid Retina XDR Displays.
