It may be a store demo model which if it is you will not be able to set it up. Can you post what you saw in the check coverage result?

Walk away. Buy a phone from an authorized retailer in your country. That is a device that was originally intended for the US market. It will have no warranty at all now as the warranty is long expired.

It’s also likely the battery will be seriously degraded if it has actually been sealed in the original package since it was new.

That is a refurbished phone that was not refurbished by Apple.

I wouldn't buy it. Lithium batteries do not like to sit around uncharged. You say it was still in the box, that means it's been sitting in a box for three or four years without occasional charging. The battery is most likely not in very good condition. Also, there will be no Apple warranty on it. If the shop provides their own warranty, I would look very closely at it.

No it is not. That is a US market iPhone, are you buying it from a US Apple Authorized Reseller?

The LL/A designates that the phone was originally sold in the United States market. To get hardware service for it you would have to take it to the US. It may also be a carrier locked iPhone or Activation Locked. Does the shop have a good return policy?

That is not a “new” phone.

The iPhone XS Max was discontinued 3 years ago.

They are lying about the refurbished part according to Mr. Finch. And as it says AS IS, I still would take a pass. And none of the independent IEM checkers are worth anything.
