I recently upgraded from iPhone 6 to iPhone 12mini.How do I decommission my old phone affecting my new phone. If I remove. /delete everything that is on my old phone including the pictures will they also be removed/deleted on my new phone?

I recently upgraded from iPhone 6 to iPhone 12mini. If I reset the old phone and erase everything on it including the pictures will this affect my new phone in any way?
