Edited pictures on iPhone 13

Hey,

I'm using iPhone 13, iOs 15.6.1

when taking a picture with a filter, I get several files, one looks like the original one let's call it IMG_E1234.HEIC, and another one called IMG_E1234.HEIC which is to the best of my knowledge, the edited version (with the filter). so far so good, BUT

when using my PC to view the images from the iPhone, the original looks the same on the preview and when opening the file, however, the 'E' photo is cropped when opening the file, unlike the preview version.

When I'm downloading the file, the original one is still the same, whereas the edited one is cropped...

Am I missing something?

see attached image for illustration (to the left, the edited photo preview is NOT cropped, whereas the enlarged photo is what I see when opening the file)

Hey there, rabers1!

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

We want to help make sure that you're able to access your photos on all of your devices seamlessly. With that in mind, can you let us know if the issue continues to happen if you open those photos in iCloud for Windows on your PC? Here is how you'd do that: Set up and use iCloud Photos on your Windows PC - Apple Support

iCloud for Windows is designed by Apple for you to have the best experience possible on your PC.

Let us know if that does the trick.

Cheers!
