AirTag won't pair with my iPhone

Thanks for posting in Apple Communities.

With your AirTag not pairing, make sure that it is not connected to a different Apple ID. This can occur if it was paired with another device. Remove it from that device in Find My app.

Open Find My app > items > [AirTag name] > Remove the item.

Now pair your AirTag to your current device and link it to only your current Apple ID.

Go to the Home Screen on your iPhone.

Remove the battery tab from the AirTag (if applicable), then hold it near your iPhone.

Tap Connect on the screen of your iPhone.

Choose a name from the list or choose Custom Name to type a name and select an emoji, then tap Continue.

Tap Continue to register the item to your Apple ID, then tap Finish.

You can also register an AirTag in the Find My app. Tap , then choose Add AirTag.
