iPhone 14 Pro Max display dimming overnight

So I got an iPhone 14 pro max on launch day and every night when I go to bed and wake up in the morning the screen is super dim. When I open the control panel it shows it as still set to the same brightness but in order for it to become bright again I have to move the slider in either direction. I have auto brightness and True Tone and all that types of stuff turned off. Anyone know why this is happening? It’s super annoying. I also don’t have any sort of sleep setting turned on or anything.

On supported iPhone models, you can use Night mode to capture photos when the camera detects a low-light environment.

Take Night mode selfies

Open the Camera app.
Tap the front-facing camera button .
Hold your iPhone in front of you.
Snap your selfie.

My question is similar -- if I wake up in the morning in a dark room and turn the phone on, the brightness is all the way down and I have to manually increase the brightness. I've tried all kinds of things and need help.

No I’m not talking about taking pictures. I’m saying the screen dims all the way from the time I put my phone down and go to sleep to the time I wake up.

I have this problem also, The screen dims all the way during the night and I have to manually adjust the brightness
