Spinning beach ball

I have a mac desk top which I bought in 2015 or 2016. I don’t use it for much, but more recently I get the spinning beach ball with every click of the mouse. I’m not too good at computers, I’ve opened the activity monitor which doesn’t mean much but there are about 13 pages of things in the CPU bit. Seemed a lot?

Hey there, Beepy01!

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

We want to help you get the best possible performance from that Mac! It's important that you're able to rely on your computer to run at the best of its ability. To start, every computer will be different so it can be hard to say how many pages of active tasks would be considered too many.

We have a good resource here which goes over some details on what you can do when your Mac is running slowly: If your Mac runs slowly - Apple Support

Our advice would be to start with that article and see if the steps help you improve the overall performance of that Mac.

We hope that this information is helpful.

Have a great day!
