Safari 16 / Monterey 12.6 issues

I've just updated to Monterey 12.6, which has also installed Safari 16.0. I am seeing the following issues:


1) I can't click on links in emails. They just won't open, so I have to copy link, open a new browser tab, paste the URL. This was working fine previously.


2) If I try to drag a tab between one Safari window and another, one of 2 things happen. It either stays where it is, or completely disappears.


Is there a fix for these issues? They aren't major, but both are very annoying!

  1. Boot your Mac into safe mode, test to see if the issues persist, then restart your Mac and test again. How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
  2. Test to see if this issue persists under a guest/test user account. This will help isolate if the issue is system wide or tied specifically to your account - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support
