Auto-Join when used with wireless carrier Wi-Fi networks

Wireless carrier Wi-Fi networks are public networks set up by your wireless carrier and their partners. Your iPhone or other Apple cellular device treats them as known networks and automatically connects to them.

If you see “Privacy Warning” under the name of your carrier's network in Wi-Fi settings, your cellular identity could be exposed if your device were to join a malicious hotspot impersonating your carrier's Wi-Fi network. To avoid this possibility, you can prevent your iPhone or iPad from automatically rejoining your carrier’s Wi-Fi network:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap  next to the wireless carrier's network.
  3. Turn off Auto-Join.

  • If the TMobileWingman Wi-Fi profile appears on a customer’s device when selecting Wi-Fi a Wi-Fi network, instruct customers to ignore this option.
  • The TMobileWingman profile was a pilot wi-fi network leveraged to be simplify connectivity when using T-Mobile In-Flight Connection.
  • Selecting the TMobileWingman profile does not provide any connectivity.
  • Teams are working to remove this Wi-Fi profile, which could take up to 4-10 months and will require a new iOS update.

T-Mobile wingman wifi

don't have a question, I tried to used the reply, but was unable to.

I want to let people know how to work around T-Mobile unwanted Wi-Fi. If you want to browse on your device, without T-Mobile wingman Wi-Fi, you go to T-Mobile wingman Wi-Fi turn it off, right after turning it off don't do anything else (don't hit cancel) just stroll from the bottom of your device up till you see your home apps. T-Mobile wingman will be turned off until you go to your settings. You can browse the internet with T-Mobile unwanted wingman Wi-Fi. But the minute you go to your settings, T-Mobile unwanted wingman Wi-Fi will turn on automatically. I hope the help ease your minds, because I feel this is a security issue when a third party can control your device, and there's nothing you can do but try to find ways to work around it. It took me a while but it worked. Blessings to all!!

I have contacted T mobile about this issue and they claim to know nothing about managed network- T mobile and T mobile wingman! I called apple and they tried to help. They suggested that I call the managed network department. I don’t even have an account with T mobile but I use Mint mobile who I know uses T mobile towers. My daughter had her service with T mobile but I just paid off the phone bc this managed network issue was driving her crazy. They are both locked networks and only appear when you go into settings under Wifi. It doesn’t appear to be auto connected. T mobile is the worst cellular company out there!

I truly believe, T-Mobile has compromised accounts around. My account bill continues to go up in price without consent. We even contacted regional office. Now, I ran into this. I read recently that some of the T-Mobile accounts have been expose internally to outside US. It makes total sense now with all the ID theft and phone calls coming from India and other parts of the world.

T-Mobile can't tell you anything nor will they even if they knew. However I did get lucky once a I spoke with a senior advisor regarding unusual analytics showing Managed Configurations along with MDM however under settings-general-VPN & Device Management there's nothing listed. He then told me, "Ma'am no one is managing your phone, it's T-Mobile! T-Mobile manages all their phones configurations including WiFi."

Since then, not one single person at T-Mobile can not will confirm that information in fact they've gone so far as to reaffirm they highly doubt anyone would've told me that because they've not heard of it. Their jobs are to help fix any issues over the phone and pacify you so you'll stay with T-Mobile!

Verizon can’t/won’t explain why there are 3 “managed networks” on my iPhone 14. Every rep I spoke with gave me a different and totally evasive answer, from “geeze it’s on my phone too! WTF?” Or “you must have automatically joined the network at some point.”

I may have been born at night, but it sure as **** wasn’t last night”.

My BS indicator is telling me something is stinking.

I have hacker stalker for years. I also have t mobile hidden if you go to Wi-Fi and click edit wingman and t mobile used to show up now it’s only tmobile hidden but on . So I turned it off Saturday. Saturday same day I got new box from them for my Wi-Fi for tvs . I have had no tv for 5-6 days now. I talked to everyone apple T-Mobile millions of times this week . Nobody knows but last night after apple had me check vpn and like the others said no one is on your phone. I went back into vpn settings and put my Apple ID in the work or school thing . Guess what ? Says sign in failed because I’m already signed in . I don’t go to school nor do o work. Now how is that on ? Apple today said oh it’s normal. I hung up. I hate being lied to. Then I find in my mail settings two ids one not active or sonething sure enough a full hidden id was working and it was an old Apple ID I used years ago . I can’t delete it either . Long story but if you all are having same issues check the vpn thing and see if you are already joined. That means someone is spying on us and remotely controlling our phones . Could be apple or T-Mobile or both or my stalker . But I’m going to lawyer. Thank you
